Based on David Grann's bestseller, this is the incredible true story of British explorer Percy Fawcett (Charlie Hunnam), who journeys into the Amazon at the dawn of the 20th century and discovers evidence of a previously unknown, advanced civilization that may have once inhabited the region.

Fawcett leaves behind his spirited wife Nina (Sienna Miller) in 1906 on what promises to be a two-year venture into the dense jungle with his close army comrade Henry Costin (Robert Pattinson) and a tiny band of guides and porters.

Threats both natural and human lurk everywhere. From here, we watch Fawcett on further expeditions in the jungle, spending time with his family back in England, and also fighting in the trenches of the Somme.

As a work of filmmaking, it’s an immediate classic, fit to stand beside the best of Werner Herzog and Stanley Kubrick – though it’s also entirely its own thing.
