The 2025 submissions for the 33rd Chichester International Film Festival will be open from Mon 13 Jan. Submissions close on 2 May, and notifications will be made by 10 June.

A 15-day Independent Film Festival which covers previews and premieres of UK, American, European and World Cinema. We present Features, Documentaries, Animations, and particularly indie films from across Europe. We also present a series of Open Air screenings in Priory Park, Chichester.

Half of the programme is new and half is made up of retros, centenaries and tributes. Talks by filmmakers and tutors support strands in Festival. Visiting filmmakers, actors producers, critics, Q&As. Recent Guests: Ralph Fiennes, John Lithgow, Timothy Spall, Phyllis Logan, Daniel Brühl, Elaine Page, Steve Coogan and Michael Radford all introduced their films.

AWARDS:
We present Audience Awards for Best Feature, Best Documentary, Best Independent Film and Best Short.
We also present – The Gibson Award:
The award is judged by Roger Gibson (Founder of the Festival and Chichester Cinema) and Walter Francisco (Festival Director) which is given to the film which best embodies the qualities that Chichester Cinema and the Chichester International Film Festival have championed in film since 1979.
Films eligible should be premieres, previews or new releases for the UK.
