In this captivating series, we celebrate the magic of music films that have resonated with audiences’ hearts over the years. From soul-stirring biopics; through on-stage performances; and to thinly veiled autobiographies; our selection showcases the emotional power of music on the big screen.
In this intersection of two major art forms, we deliver a heavyweight selection of films which all celebrate big anniversaries. Through these, we will discover how legendary pop artists – Elvis, Talking Heads and Prince - have triumphed on the big screen; how one Beethoven composition inspired a magnificent Gary Oldman performance; and how a German director brought to the world a criminally hidden group of talented Cuban musicians.
