Link Up Youth Hub offers targeted employment and training advice to people aged 16-24 living in Havant and surrounding areas in partnership with DWP and Havant Borough Council.
The Youth Hub is designed to help young people move into employment, education or training. Many of the young people face additional barriers such as housing issues, caring responsibilities, special educational needs, health concerns and low confidence. From practical support in preparing for interviews and securing skills and qualifications they help to build individuals’ confidence to achieve better things, and becoming happier, healthier people.
As part of our commitment to supporting young people through the challenges of modern life, Chichester Cinema was delighted to welcome 12 young adults aged 17–25 to a free Stop Motion Animation workshop on 27 March, delivered in partnership with Havant Youth Hub.
The day combined hands-on creativity with behind-the-scenes cinema experiences, giving participants the chance to explore stop-motion animation, visit the projection booth and enjoy a free screening of Mother’s Pride.
What began as a quiet and cautious group quickly grew into a relaxed, engaged and chatty atmosphere, with young people connecting through creativity, conversation and the shared experience of cinema. It was a wonderful reminder of the power film and the arts can have in building confidence, connection and community.
