2019 was a huge year for Chichester Cinema at New Park, for it marked 40 years since Roger Gibson gave light to our unique independent cinema - then situated at Chichester College – before moving to the New Park Centre, where we have brought to Chichester the best in cinema from the UK and abroad.

With Special Events, themes and mini-seasons to mark this momentous occasion, we joined with our treasured patrons to make the Ruby Anniversary year one to cherish. We produced a commemorative Magazine (see link below), and twice a month screened milestone films from our 40 years at only £2/person - the original cost of a cinema ticket in 1979 (see Ruby Tuesday below).
Milestones of the Past 40 Years: 1979-2019
From February through to December on each first and third Tuesdays of the month, we screened milestones and highlights of specific years in our Cinema history. In most cases the admission price was £2 reflecting the original ticket price in the first few years as a film society.
