EARLY WINTER SEASON - ON SALE - Find out more.

Early Autumn Season On Sale

25 Aug 2021

As we approach the end of this fantastic Film Festival, packed with wonderful examples of this art that we so love, we start to look over the horizon of the Closing Gala to what comes next.

You will be glad to know that we are giving you all five days rest… but no more!

From Sat 4 Sep, we begin our Early Autumn season, and this one has some real treats.

These include the romantic Last Letter From Your Lover, the futuristic Reminiscence, and the dry Nordic humour of Riders of Justice. Look out also for the one-off special screening of Janine Jansen: Falling for Stradivari where one of the greatest contemporary violinists attempts to record an album on 12 of the world’s greatest Stradivari violins. If that wasn’t artistic enough for you, we can give you The Lost Leonardo, where a different aspect of the art world comes through when dealing with the most expensive painting ever sold.

Do not let the title put you off… Pig is one of the season’s highlights. Nicolas Cage plays a truffle hunter who must return to his past in search of his beloved foraging pig after she is kidnapped. Now that you mention it – yes – we are bringing back one of the Summer highlights – The Truffle Hunters. Another standout this Autumn will be Jennifer Hudson playing Aretha Franklin in Respect. Aretha had handpicked Hudson to play her before her recent passing. No pressure there then!

There are so many more to announce, but there is one that may really be worth your while. The Pebble and the Boy follows the story of a young man who travels from Manchester to Brighton on his deceased father’s Lambretta to transport his ashes to the spiritual home of the Mods in Brighton. Along with these new releases, we will give you a chance to see some of the Festival highlights you may have missed, and a couple of other Summer treats get a return screening. Look out also for some socially distanced screenings for selected films.

Tickets went on sale for Friends this morning at 10:00, and will go on sale for the General Public on Fri 27 Aug at 10:00.

We hope to receive the printed brochure at New Park this Friday afternoon, but you can take a look at the digital version RIGHT HERE, or discover all the films in the EARLY AUTUMN COLLECTION.
