The virtuosic Stephen Horne dealt out a cinematic experience for the ages.
To the stunning visuals of EARTH – a poetic 1930 silent drama by Aleksandr Dovzhenko, set in the peaceful countryside of Ukraine in Soviet times – Stephen Horne delighted the audience with the piano, accordion, flute and kalimba.
Those present were mesmerised by a unique film that was half documentary, half rural drama. A moving piece of cinema that was lifted by an original – and perfectly appropriate – score.
Oh – and the venue was amazing!
