Chichester Cinema at New Park is committed to providing a unique Film Education experience to the local adult and school community.
We aim to provide strategic film programming, film courses, guest speakers and Q&A sessions for adults and school age children. Our education provision for adults ranges from two hour sessions to full day courses covering a wide range of film topics, featuring both guest speakers and members of the education team.
For schools, we offer tailor made educational experiences for both primary and secondary levels. We hope that our cinema will be a place where film in its many forms can be explored by all ages, and that we can improve the well-being of our community.

We seek volunteers to lead events and deliver talks, with the following:
• A good knowledge of and an enthusiasm for cinema, past and present
• A willingness to undertake research for specific talks to build on the above
• An ability to put together a PowerPoint or a Keynote presentation, or the willingness to learn how to do this
• A positive attitude towards technology
• Confident public speaking skills
We offer tailor made education programmes at Chichester Cinema at New Park to all schools free of charge as part of our Education Programme.
We have worked with various schools’ English, History, RE, Drama, Modern Foreign Languages, Law, Film Studies and Media departments to deliver tailor made sessions on a variety of subjects to groups of pupils from Primary School right up to Sixth Form students. We use the auditorium for larger groups and the studio for the smaller groups. Our staff are trained teachers and educationalists.
We work closely with the Chichester Festival Theatre’s Education Department to present two handed shows linking plays being performed at the CFT with film clips and discussions on costume, acting and staging.
If you would like to discuss what we can offer to your school, please contact our Education Officer, Patrick Hargood.
