When an alien with amazing powers crash-lands near Mossy Bottom Farm, Shaun the Sheep goes on a mission to shepherd the intergalactic visitor home before a sinister organization can capture her.
The greedy farmer of Mossy Bottom decides to start a cottage industry to cash in on a UFO craze by building an amusement park he names Farmageddon. The film's gentle message of making friends with strangers comes through loud and clear, which is all the more impressive as no-one speaks but communicate in grunts, squeals and chuckles.
The blending of rural English farmyard life with a whizzy outer space adventure is remarkably seamless, with massive set-pieces that generate thrills and constant silliness on a variety of layers, aimed at young and old.
The stop-motion is extraordinary (as always!), and there are non-stop visual gags and adorable sound effects.
