In deep space, the crew of the commercial starship Nostromo is awakened from their cryo-sleep capsules halfway through their journey home to investigate a distress call from an alien vessel.
The terror begins when the crew encounters a nest of eggs inside the alien ship.
Her colleagues include Parker (Yaphet Kotto), petulant and resentful Brett (Harry Dean Stanton), Dallas (Tom Skerritt), and then there is the always impressive John Hurt as Kane, an eager volunteer for the job of exploring the planet’s surface, and Ian Holm is superb as the scientific officer Ash.
After nearly 50 years, this sci-fi horror masterpiece that conveys the idea of space as a limitless new extension of human paranoia, still feels lethally contemporary.
