More than 30 years after they met as young scientists doing research on an isolated shore, Celice and her husband Joseph return to Baritone Bay, where the wildlife, including the rare species of bird which he discovered, is threatened by development.
When they disappear, their daughter, Syl, reluctantly joins the hunt. As their fate becomes clear she herself makes a discovery that will change her life. Based on the novel by Jim Crace, John Meyers’ film is handsomely photographed and scored by his son, Ben.
