A music store employee discovers he has been born with the ability to render himself invisible in Patrick-Mario Bernard and Pierre Trividic’s anti-superhero blast.
Such a power only leads to loneliness, alienation and a feeling that he would have been better off without it. It’s a refreshingly pessimistic take on a genre that’s dominated Hollywood for nearly two decades. Down-and-out Dominick Brassan (Jean-Christophe Folly), who lives in a suburb north of Paris, has a touch-and-go relationship with his affable girlfriend, Viveka (Isabelle Carre).
As Dominick’s power becomes harder to control, things heat up with Elham (Golshifteh Farahani), a beautiful, blind musician whom Dominick had previously spied on while invisible. The two strike up a relationship with the irony not lost that it takes a blind person to see Dominick for who he truly is. Cast Jean-Christophe Folly, Isabelle Carré, Golshifteh Farahani, Sami Ameziane, Claudia Tagbo. (Subtitles)
