FILM:
‘Carve Her Name with Pride’ is about Violette Szabo GC, a famous Special Operations Executive agent, who was parachuted into France in 1944 and then brought back to England in an RAF Lysander flown from RAF Tangmere by Flight Lieutenant, Bob Large. She later was parachuted again into France for a second mission and was subsequently captured and executed as a spy. Before the showing of this 1958 film, starring Virginia McKenna and Paul Scofield and directed by Lewis Gilbert, a short talk will be given by Dudley Hooley, the Director of Tangmere Military Aviation Museum, on RAF Tangmere’s role in the transportation of SOE agents to and from France.
