In a series of three, two-hour lectures that you can’t refuse, Charles Rollings covers almost a century of gangster movies, illustrated with movie clips, stills, lobby-cards, posters and studio shots.
Starting with the silent era and the masterpiece ‘Underworld’ (1927), he’ll takes you for an action-packed ride through the landmark biopics, heist movies, film noirs and film stars right up to today’s epics, re-makes and the ‘geezer-gangster’. It will be emotional.
Charles Rollings is a BA (Hons) in Film & Drama Studies and United States Studies. He writes and lectures widely on history, literature, film, television and journalism, both in Britain and abroad. The author of three books, he has also been involved in documentaries for the BBC and Channel 4. All welcome.
