The couple's new life has the potential to be idyllic. They are fiercely in love, surrounded by woods and meadows, allowing Grace the peace and freedom to write a novel.

But once a baby comes into their life, Grace becomes blearily adrift from reality, brilliantly conveyed by the director using a variety of cinematic techniques.

The threat of violence pervades the film, but it is cleverly balanced with touches of dark humour.
