Kansas City meteorologist Margaret Fairchild (Emily Blunt) causes a global panic when she unexpectedly begins speaking in an alien language live on television.
In steps cybersecurity expert Daniel Kellner (Josh O'Connor) who has figured out how to translate the alien transmissions. Believing that the truth belongs to humanity, he decides to orchestrate "Disclosure Day" - a simultaneous, worldwide reveal of the extra-terrestrial secret.
