They try to help alongside fellow rescuer Jed (Rhys Ifans), but the repercussions leave Joe deeply traumatized and guilt-ridden.

Following the event, Jed develops a dangerous, delusional obsession with Joe, challenging Joe's sanity, guilt and his relationship with Claire.

This is a psychological thriller with great performances by the leading trio (especially Ifans), it is intelligent and gripping and balances two related themes with insight: the guilt in the aftermath of tragedy and the challenges of a relationship that moves from unwanted to ominous.
