Behind the spectacle and danger of 1950's Formula 1, Enzo Ferrari (Adam Driver) is in crisis. Bankruptcy stalks the company he and his wife, Laura (Penélope Cruz), built from nothing ten years earlier. Their tempestuous marriage struggles with the mourning for their son Dino, and Enzo struggles with the acknowledgement of another.
Look out for the brilliantly orchestrated Mille Miglia race sequence for the film’s climax. Adam Driver is magisterial, playing a man some years older than himself. Jack O’Connell and Patrick Dempsey co-star as racing drivers in this long-time Michael Mann (‘Last of the Mohicans’, ‘Heat’, ‘Collateral’) passion project.
