Focus on the Documentary:
This intimate and revealing film follows a season in the life of our generation's most exciting prima ballerina, Natalia Osipova.
Osipova is the superstar leading ballerina of The Royal Ballet and solo star at Sadler's Wells, the Bolshoi and dance theatres around the world. The film observes her at work on Royal Ballet productions as well as contemporary dance theatre and modern ballet pieces.
The film explores Natalia's rich dance history through glorious clips of Royal Ballet productions of ‘Swan Lake’ and ‘Giselle’ and never-before granted access to her personal archive. These include her dancing as a child aged five in Moscow, through the Mikhail Lavrosky ballet school and Moscow State Academy as well as highlights from her career at the Bolshoi and at the American Ballet Theatre as well as her relationship with Dancer star Sergei Polunin.
