Special Screening
FROM 31 Oct

In this upbeat British comedy, two friends enter an antique car rally. Alan McKim (John Gregson) drives his beloved 1904 automobile, named Genevieve, while Ambrose Claverhouse (Kenneth More) takes his vintage Spyker car.
Alan’s wife Wendy (Dinah Sheridan) is more than a little fed up with Genevieve, and accompanies him resignedly on what she considers a rather childish adventure. Ambrose has brought his latest girlfriend on the run, a blasé model called Rosalind (Kay Kendall). The trek soon turns fiercely competitive, each driver devising clever ways to sabotage the other in hopes of winning the race.
This is an exquisitely funny British comedy with fabulous musical and landscapes.
The Chichester MG Owners Club suggested we might show this classic comedy the day before the famous annual run of veteran cars from Hyde Park to Brighton Promenade in commemoration of the 1896 raising of the speed limit from 4 to 14 mph.
The Act also abolished the need for a man with a red flag walking in front!
The story is of an unofficial race back to London by two friendly rivals with hilarious consequences.
MGOC will display some of their classic cars in our car park on the day.
