In the UK, January 27 is holocaust Memorial Day which marks the liberation of Auschwitz Birkenau, the largest Nazi death camp. This is a day to remember the six million Jews murdered in the holocaust, and the millions killed under Nazi persecution, and in the genocides which followed in Cambodia, Rwanda, Bosnia and Darfur.
In the Uk, thousands of local events and activities take place every year, each one an opportunity for people to reflect on those whose lives were changed beyond recognition, and to challenge prejudice, discrimination and hatred in our own society today.
The Chichester Marks Holocaust Memorial Day committee will be presenting a special film event at the New Park Cinema on the afternoon of Sunday 27 Jan between 11:00 and 14:30, and we do hope you will be able to join us.
Full details of the programme and how to book tickets will be announced during the Winter Season and on the New Park cinema website. Join our weekly Mailing List to be the first to know (click link at bottom right of this page).
Sun 26 Jan 11:00 to 14:30
There is no charge for this event, but entrance is by ticket only, available on a first come basis from the box office.
