Holy Days

Nat Boltt | 2026 | 101 MINS
New Zealand/Canada
A lost boy in search of heaven, three odd nuns on a mission and a car powered by God (and stolen money). This is a fun film! A road trip like no other. A comedic near-tragedy that just keeps going South.

In Detail

1974, New Zealand. A young Maori boy called Brian (Elijah Tamati) has had his heart broken after his mother passes away, but forms a personal connection with a quirky trio of nuns.

These are played by Miriam Margolyes – who is always great value - and Australian acting royalty Judy Davis and Jacki Weaver. When Brian overhears some earth-shattering news regarding the future of the convent, the group embark on a wild, hilarious race to find the original deed to the land and save the building.

Set throughout rural New Zealand, the visuals are diverse and often breathtaking, featuring coastlines, mountain peaks and gorgeous winding roads. ‘Holy Days’ is a feel-good joyride about faith, fierce family vibes and finding hope where you least expect it. Buckle up!
