A deadly virus has ravaged the world and scientist Martin Lowery (Joel Fry) is sent to a government-controlled outpost in a verdant English forest. He is assigned to trek through the woods to meet Dr Wendle (Hilary Squires) who hasn’t been heard from for a while. His journey brings him into contact with the unhinged Zach (Reece Shearsmith) and soon descends into a fight for survival.

Filmed over 15 days in August last year and clearly informed by the current pandemic, In The Earth is an immersive portrait of tribalism and madness, angst and survivalism that builds to a tense and unsettlingly eerie conclusion.
