Open Air Screening at Priory Park
Daredevil archaeologist Indiana Jones races against time to retrieve a legendary dial that can change the course of history.
Finding himself in a new era and approaching retirement, Indy wrestles with fitting into a world that seems to have outgrown him. But as the tentacles of an all-too-familiar evil return in the form of an old rival, Indy must don his hat and pick up his whip once more to make sure an ancient and powerful artefact doesn't fall into the wrong hands.
The titular MacGuffin can alter history and now the Nazis are after it. It is 15 years since ‘Kingdom of the Crystal Skull’ and this time the stellar cast includes Phoebe Waller-Bridge as Indy’s goddaughter and Mads Mikkelsen in villainous mode, as well as John Rhys-Davies and Antonio Banderas.
This is an exuberant action flick highlighted by the charm and charisma of Harrison Ford, and it contains lots of satisfying fan service. From old friends popping up, to familiar situations unfolding in different ways, to a nice little spin on the iconic scene from the first film where our intrepid archaeologist lies bruised and battered.
His girlfriend commented on how many years he’s been doing the punishing gig, and Indy ad-libbed, “It’s not the years, honey. It’s the mileage.”
