Half a Century of Films
This year marks the 50th anniversary of the film debut of the sublime French actress Isabelle Huppert and in this talk, illustrated by clips from all five decades of her career, Patrick Hargood, the cinema education officer, will be exploring her distinctive contribution to the art of film acting.
A favourite of such eminent directors as Claude Chabrol (‘Madame Bovary’ - screening the following week as part of the French Film Festival on Tour) and Michael Haneke (‘The Piano Teacher’), other notable films covered will include her Oscar nominated performance in Paul Verhoeven’s ‘Elle’ and Hollywood epic ‘Heaven’s Gate’.
