Paris 1985: Vincent (Simon Boublil), about to turn 13, grows up in the suburbs within a middle-class family, swinging between an older brother who lives only for music, and parents in constant conflict. The film traces this in-between space, where questions about identity, family, friendship, religion, and first loves start to redefine how he sees the world.
French cinema veterans Camille Cottin and Louis Garrel – who you will surely recognise - portray the parents with an explosive chemistry and real emotional heft.
Nakache and Toledano directed the 2013 Chichester Film Festival Audience Award winner, ‘Les Intouchables’, and here, once again, they have created a heartwarming comedy blessed with vibrant energy and a strong cast.
Listen out for the energetic soundtrack which propels the film.
