FROM 16 Feb
Oil discovered in the Osage region of the wild west makes them the richest social group per-capita in the world, inevitably attracting all sorts of miscreants. William ‘King’ Hale (Robert De Niro), local bigwig and duplicitously vocal ‘friend’ to the Osage, and his feckless nephew Ernest Burkhart (Leonardo DiCaprio) manipulate a situation that sees Ernest into a marriage to Osage woman Molly Kyle (an outstanding Lily Gladstone).
After a series of suspicious deaths, FBI Agent Tom White (Jesse Plemons) and his undercover team arrive to bring some justice to proceedings.
In its gripping, breathless final third – including a witty, touching epilogue – ‘Killers of the Flower Moon’ becomes more than a revisionist western, more than a poisonous love story and more even than a classic gangster movie. It becomes a Martin Scorsese film, and there can be no higher praise.
We will be including a short comfort break with each screening.
