Lady Isabella Ravenhyde (Sian Clifford, ‘Fleabag’) is an aristocrat who longs for fame. ‘Stately Stars’, the local talent show held every year at her estate, seems like the golden opportunity for her to achieve it.
So she hires a film crew led by struggling filmmaker Sam (Laurie Kynaston) to make a documentary for Netflix. She wants the camera to follow her ‘epic journey’ of artistic discovery, hopefully culminating in her winning the show, even though it is meant for disadvantaged children.
This mockumentary was compared by its director to films such as ‘Being John Malkovich’ in the way that it uses a surreal hook to portray a human journey. Sian Clifford is a tour de force in this unique, hilarious and unpredictable film.
