Maria (Naomi Rapace) and Ingvar (Hilmir Snær Guðnason) are unhappy – there is a sense of loss surrounding them as they go about their business on their remote farm. When one of their sheep gives birth to something unexpected the couple are initially delighted as the prospect of a family life dawns.
With its overtones of horror ‘Lamb’ is nonetheless a genuinely affecting story about parenthood and the burden of loss. However, to explain much more about ‘Lamb’ would be to spoil the experience.
