An ambitious young man struggles to achieve his dream of becoming an employee in a Munich luxury hotel, despite being strongly visually impaired.
A German ‘Untouchable’ is how this film is being promoted. This true-facts-based comedy is a buddy movie about Saliya (Kostja Ullmann), a young man who is going blind, but with the help of close friends, disguises the fact when working at a top hotel in Munich. But when Saliya falls in love with Laura (Anna Maria Mühe), the elaborate deception he so carefully put together begins to fall apart.
‘Blind Date’ was a box-office hit in Germany, with close to 350,000 admissions in its first two weeks, and is brought back to New Park after our Premiere screening in the 2017 Chichester Film Festival. (Subtitles)
