This acclaimed animated tale follows schoolgirl Satsuke and her younger sister, Mei, as they settle into an old country house with their father and wait for their mother to recover from an illness in a local hospital.
As the sisters explore their new home, they encounter and befriend playful spirits in their house and the nearby forest, most notably the massive cuddly creature known as Totoro who acts as a symbol of harmony between humans and nature. This animated fantasy film, written and directed by Japanese auteur Hayao Miyazaki and animated by Studio Ghibli, will enchant Children with the whimsical and fun adventures of Totoro while the meticulous depiction of daily life will evoke a sense of nostalgia in adults, reminding them of the pure emotions of childhood. We will be screening the subtitled and the dubbed versions.
