Two brilliant intelligence officers attempt to trick the Nazis into thinking that Allied forces were planning to attack southern Europe by way of Greece rather than Sicily. Their plan was to disguise the body of a recently-deceased man, equipping it with misleading papers, then drop it off the coast of Spain where Nazi spies would take the bait.
The absurdity of the plan throws up unexpectedly funny moments among the tense scenes of high-level espionage.
Adapted from Ben Macintyre's book of the same name, director John Madden ('Shakespeare in Love', 'The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel') delivers an incredible true story of WWII intelligence operations.
