It is a truth universally acknowledged that filmmakers cannot resist making new adaptations of Jane Austen’s novels.
This one boasts very impressive credentials, coming from Britain’s most successful production outfit, Working Title, and with the strong young cast of cast Daisy Edgar-Jones (playing Elinor), Esmé Creed-Miles (Marianne) George MacKay (Edward Ferrars) and Frank Dillane (Willoughby) and Herbert Nordrum as Colonel Brandon.
"This wildly entertaining Sense and Sensibility is Austen with the bonnets blown off.
Director Georgia Oakley gives us landscape cinema with fresh, tender, intuitive performances from Daisy Edgar-Jones and Esmé Creed-Miles."
