‘Silent Night’ follows a group of old friends who - in true British fashion and while the rest of the world faces impending doom - reunite to celebrate Christmas in the comfort of an idyllic country home. Burdened with the inconvenience of mankind’s imminent destruction, they adopt a stiff upper lip, crack open another bottle of prosecco and continue with their festivities.
Starring Keira Knightley, Matthew Goode and Roman Griffin Davis (the boy from ‘JoJo Rabbit’), the film veers from bleakness to wild black comedy. Watching these revelers interact feels like they have long come to terms with their impending doom and are determined to make the best of it.
With a lively soundtrack that includes some classic tunes of the season (Jose Feleciano’s ‘Feliz Navidad’ for one), plus a rock out, dance your socks off scene set to ‘Fame’, this is fun and unique apocalyptic Christmas fare.
BROCHURE AMEND: Please note that the Sun 19 Dec 18:15 screening of 'Silent Night' will now start at the earlier time of 17:45.
