‘Suzume’ tells the tale of how high schooler Suzume Iwato discovers the secret, mystical causes behind the earthquakes that plague Japan and becomes wrapped up in an epic race to save her country from an impending tectonic cataclysm.

What Suzume finds is a single weathered door standing upright in the midst of ruins as though it was shielded from whatever catastrophe struck. Seemingly drawn by its power, Suzume reaches for the knob. This is a visually stunning piece of popular anime. Director Makoto Shinkai continues to add to his legacy alongside ‘Your Name’ and ‘Weathering with You’. (Subtitles)
