Jeff Nichols’ film immerses you in the look, feel and sounds of the bare-knuckled, grease-covered subculture of 1960s motorcycle riders.
Kathy (Jodie Comer), a strong-willed member of the Vandals who is married to wild and reckless Benny (Austin Butler), recounts the Vandals' evolution from a local club of outsiders united by good times, rumbling bikes and respect for their strong, steady leader Johnny (Tom Hardy). Nichols genuinely captures the spirit of this particular rugged era and keeps your attention even if you never gave a second thought to those packs of bike riders passing you on the highway. Even with a cast that includes Tom Hardy, it is Jodie Cromer who steals the show - she is stunning! "Austin Butler and Tom Hardy are cool personified." Variety
