Their world is suddenly overturned with the arrival of Daniel (Domhnall Gleeson), a lonely and socially inept council worker. He's come to evacuate them to the mainland, but they have other ideas. The duo have been prepared for any “incomers” who might try to evict them, however, and essentially take their visitor hostage. If you imagine ‘The Banshees of Inisherin’ relocated to Scotland and written by Richard Ayoade… you are halfway to understanding this film. This gently absurdist comedy was a surprise hit at the 2026 Sundance film Festival.
