
Some of the protagonists look back on the traumatic experience, which changed their lives.
Stories sometimes marked by pain but later transformed into hope by the love of families who opened their hearts and homes in a new and unknown country.
What becomes apparent is the extraordinary ability of the children from the contaminated areas to adapt, and to overcome deep psychological traumas and immense difficulties to rebuild a new life and achieve great things.
The title of the film is drawn from the local stork population which are culturally symbolic in Ukraine, who had not nested back in Chernobyl since the disaster, until recently when six were spotted settling near the exclusion zone.
