As irresistibly romantic as it is awe-inspiringly gorgeous, we present this beautiful film as one of our two Valentine’s Day presentations. The story follows a high-school boy who has run away and befriends a girl who appears to be able to manipulate the weather.
The summer of his first high school year, Hodaka runs away from his remote island home to Tokyo, and quickly finds himself pushed to his limits. The weather is unusually gloomy and rains every day, as if to suggest his future, but finally he finds work as a writer for a mysterious occult magazine. One day, this small-town dreamer meets Hina on a busy street corner. This bright and strong-willed girl possesses a strange and wonderful ability: the power to stop the rain and clear the sky...
N.b. We will screen both the original version and the English dubbed version of this film.
