More than 1800 attended The Chichester International Film Festival’s curtain-raiser, the Open Air screenings in Priory Park this last weekend, sponsored by The Graphic Design House.
With a varied and accessible programme which comprised the original STAR WARS, BABE, PRETTY WOMAN, JURASSIC PARK and SONG SUNG BLUE (image below), there really was something for everyone. We were thrilled to be able to invite families really feeling the financial pinch and using the Chichester Food Bank to see a film for free as well as families under the care of Sanctuary and My Sisters’ House and some pupils from Parklands and Tangmere. We also extended our offer to Chichester Young Carers and families being looked after by Home Start, and some film fans from the Young People’s Shop.
It was, as it always is, a magical weekend which starts by being bathed in sunshine and ends under the stars. The atmosphere is cosy and intimate and it feels like you’re part of the most exclusive club, but actually all were welcomed in with open arms!
Some moments from the Open Air Screenings below.
