Malik is a tough but troubled guy with military experience and access to military intelligence. He is galvanised by the top-secret material he has discovered – the truth about an alien invasion, which to his fury the US government has covered up. He has no choice but to rescue his two young sons from his ex-wife before it’s too late.
There are elements of ‘Invasion of the Body Snatchers’ and ‘The Fly’ here as well as the doomed road trip in ‘Thelma and Louise’. Tremendous taught direction from Michael Pearce in this cleverly confounding thriller.
It’s deceptively simple yet deeply philosophical stuff, channelled by first-rate genre filmmaking.
