Struggling to find his place at Oxford University, student Oliver Quick (Barry Keoghan, ‘The Banshees of Inisherin’) finds himself drawn into the world of the charming and aristocratic Felix Catton (Jacob Elordi - will play Elvis in the upcoming ‘Priscilla’).
Felix invites him to Saltburn, his eccentric family's (including a razor-sharp Rosamund pike as the family matriarch) sprawling estate, for a summer that sets in motion a series of tragic events. The lushness of the imagery is exquisite, turning the visual language of a psychosexual thriller into the evocative work of an old master.
Keoghan - as has become custom - turns in a towering performance, sinister and irresistible in equal measure. Director Fennell (Oscar winner for ‘Promising Young Woman’) has created a provocatively wicked tale of privilege and desire, probing the ways that intense want can transform into something deeply disturbing.
"Deliciously twisty tale of grotesque over privilege." Evening Standard
