A GREENER SCREEN Stories celebrating the beauty of our natural world

In this celebration of all we treasure and all we have to lose, we embark on a journey with a host of short clips of nature and wildlife captured by conservationists, biologists and activists across 25 different countries.

A far cry from today’s high-def filming, each participant has used a Super8 camera, imbuing the film with a great warmth and nostalgia and not a little hope.

This immersive exploration of the world covers everything from garden snails and Welsh puffins to the last remaining two white rhinos – and to cap it all, this poetic and personal meditation on the natural world comes with a rich and diverse music score. Something to savour! (Some subtitles)

There will be a short introduction by Surfers Against Sewage before the main presentation

Paul is a volunteer regional rep for Surfers Against Sewage (SAS) and has held a Paddle-Out protest for us in 2025 and 2026. He recently gave us this thought "It’s becoming more and more apparent how badly the water companies are letting us down. We hold up our end of the deal by paying our bills but they don’t sanitise our waste, they pump it into our seas instead. They are afraid that people know what they have been up to. We must keep the pressure on if we are ever to have safe waters again." SAS are currently focused on ensuring there is systemic change around how water companies operate that clearly puts public health and environment before profit.

Please come to hear a short talk from Paul and watch a short film from SAS about a swim from the source of the Thames to Parliament we undertook last year to highlight the breadth of the sewage crisis.
