Film Talk

Formed 62 years ago, The Rolling Stones are rock royalty and an institution. With the Chichester Festival Theatre examining the notorious 1967 drugs raid at Keith Richards’ West Sussex home in the play ‘Redlands’, the Chichester Cinema Education Team is looking at the Stones’ screen presence.

In Detail

From filmed music performances to documentaries to dramas about the Stones to acting roles from the individual members, the decades have provided a wealth of films that are as diverse as they are fascinating, charting the Stones’ path from aspirational teenagers to elder statesmen, along with their entourage.

Major releases that will be put under the spotlight by Sandy Guthrie from the Education Team will include ‘Gimme Shelter’, Martin Scorsese’s ‘Shine a Light’, and Mick Jagger in ‘Performance’ and ‘Ned Kelly’

The Cinema will also see the return of the recent documentary ‘Catching Fire: The Story of Anita Pallenberg’, a key member of the Rolling Stones’ family.
